Steve Layman, CEO

As a child, Steve was inspired by a builder he knew that would take him on visits to his construction sites. Steve would follow him around, eagerly scavenging for scraps of wood that he’d turn into treehouses, go-carts, and forts.

He took that love for building with him to the University of Washington where he received a degree in Construction Management. After a successful stint with a large construction firm, Steve built his first custom home for a friend in 2003. It was the rewards of taking that project from conception to its beautiful completion that led Steve to open the doors to Blox Construction. Outside of work, you’ll find him skiing, boating, hiking, travelling, or just trying to keep up with his two busy teenage boys.

To relax at the end of the day, he loves to share a great meal with friends and family.
